Short Bike Ride's can change your Tune – Luxury in Simplicity

Short Bike Ride's can change your Tune – Luxury in Simplicity

Since childhood traveling meant to be like a luxury trip in a first-class Airline with decoded airport look, accommodation in a Four/Five even Seven-star hotels with a beach view, world-class dinner with elegant wine exclusive tours. Hell lots of shopping before the vacation, carrying tons of beauty products from getting tan, to manage frizzy hair, and things to be in comfort and sound safe. Being very fragile about surroundings, climate, health beauty, and whatnot. The whole perception of traveling was different. Everything was pre-planned, including our outfits to wear as per the journey. Luxury and comfort was the utmost priority here, It was always exciting to be off on a journey for especially summer vacations.

Mine whole lot perception changed when I had been to my first, ride in the year 2015 to Dhapoli – Maharashtra on a bike ride as a pillion. Frankly speaking, I was not that happy to ride on a Bullet for almost 230 KMS was a big deal for me back then. But my husband insisted me to go for a ride at least  once and experience this as I was very much in pressure those days due to overstretching work stress and stuff, so I convinced myself to take a break from my routine and thought to give it a try and experience this once. As I have always seen him perked up with the joy on his face when it comes to going for a ride with his friends and club members had always witnessed the restlessness a day before the ride, I use to wonder how come he is so happy and committed towards something which we lack nowadays and also be able to manage his schedule and prioritize things accordingly. I mean we hardly get any time for ourselves and this guy manages to go for a ride for every alternate weekend or maybe like twice or thrice in a month definitely. We hardly manage to plan three vacations in a year; I was happy for him though at least there’s someone living to the fullest and believe in practicing his passion apart from this tedious routine.

Very next day he managed to get me some riding gears from somewhere and introduced me to these safety guards to be worn during the rides like riding Jacket, hand gloves, knee guard, helmet. The first time I wore them and it was something different from our usual apparel. It made me felt like supercilious and more of stylin for a moment. I mean not bad I fit in pretty well in those biker ‘a la mode” which made me even happier this was really something new to me, though I had no idea about riding n stuff. Soon we left for a ride and what all I was carrying is a couple of jeans a t-shirt and one nightdress that’s it. No hefty shopping, nothing new just an old pair of clothes and some toiletry stuff and you are done.  I have been asked not to carry any extra luggage as it was a bike ride and I somehow managed to do so for the first time actually.

So we started the early morning by 6 AM and I was bit scared as it was my first long but not so long ride, multiple negative haunting thoughts crossing my mind what if we going to stuck somewhere, what if our bike comes up with any issue, oh my god where is this noise is coming from, who the hell rides on the bike for more than 30KMS, what if our tyre gets flat somewhere; what we suppose to do then, oh god I am sleepy head now and it doesn’t end here I managed to annoy my partner with my fear, tantrums, and terror of going on bike ride yes I was really scared for the first ride. After an hour I started to witness the sunrise oh my my. This morning the sun made me adore it, the oriental brightness fusion of a true paradise it was spectacular. Hassle-free highways pleased by cool breeze no pollution felt like birds singing for you, there’s some magic in the air calms all the frights, as if this morning was just for you nature had a bit of wisdom to offer; getting mesmerized by nature this experience was truly unique and beautiful. I started singing aloud on the bike because it’s just me for the moment, you start sensing things around you rather than just seeing. I was listening to myself and pouring my heart out with happiness and pleasure which I was enduring for the first time on a road trip. I had my “Wow” moments which I actually have missed all of this in a car/flight or a train no doubt.  My all worries started to draw off. We stopped near Panvel to grab some Vada Pav for breakfast, gosh... it was so filling and yum.  There were many club members waiting for each other to reunite and start off from there. I met all of his friends and was happy to see all of them, very kind, and sweet; I was the only female out there but felt very pleasant and warm nothing disregard.

We left from there rode for almost 4 to 5 hrs and took a halt for Lunch, you can call it Dhaba or small local establish a hotel.  I had hardly been to Dhaba for ages at that time, the food was tempting, the aroma of freshly cooked chicken and fish was mouth watering it made me even hungrier. I had the best chicken handi after a long time in a Dhaba which was flavourful and very appetizing some really interesting local dishes, food is always an important part of travel – is enjoyable and guilt-free, forget your culinary skills and go..... nom nom nom. No matter how much you pay in a five star, nothing can satisfy your appetite like the hot paranthas and a chicken handi at the Dhaba.  I had some sort of pleasurable experience eating a mouth-watering food from a normal Dhaba and not in an overrated 5-star restaurant wherein all gravy tastes the same. The food is not only delicious but easy on your pocket as well. If you are a Dhaba lover you will definitely relate to this.

Finally, we reached our destination by 5 in the eve; meanwhile, I got a severe backache but I was fine after a couple of beers…. “Sip Happens”. My room was very simple and a small one-room unit with two double beds with extra bed lying on a floor… A comfy chair and a small table that’s it.   After some time, I was in for the binge drinking session, met with new faces; entertained by goofing session for new riders, and also met my friend Nandini Borkar for the first time the only female I witnessed there apart from me, was happy to see her. We hardly exchanged any talks but introduced ourselves to each other, not knowing we will be joining for a long Spiti Valley journey soon with her and Ashwini Ladkani in a couple of months. Yes, have been to Spiti too with these lovelies, first actual long ride in 2015. Very next day we head back home and for me, a lot has changed. After this Spiti, Ashtvinayak, Dhabosa Waterfall, Vikramgadh, Pawna lake, Lonar crater, Nagpur, Nepal; I joined my husband for as many rides as possible.

This changed my overall perception of traveling and the world is best seen from the back seat. No luxury extravagant tours, luggage, simple yet sophisticated ride. A day full of adventure and happiness full of surprises, no formal itinerary to follow all stops are best to stay. No Luxury or comfort the only priority is to get a good meal and bed at the end of the day with your best-loved side to sleep. No big-time buffets for breakfast just a simple Poha, Missal Pao, or Idli Sambhar with a cup of tea is more than enough to start your day and prep you for a ride. No munching in McDonald's or Subway, just a roadside Tapari wali chai and Vada Pao can do wonders. least interested in my hair, skin, or dirt can lie-down anywhere when tired, any piece of land would do for a break and to start over again, felt like more of owned by nature and nothing strange or anomalous. The overall expense was less than my one salon visit believe me and experienced lifetime memories. Gives you the possibility of “don’t need to plan”, leave space for adventure and makes you feel more responsible without any tour or travel company tantrums by traveling as per their standard and norms, you are the “Boss”  go wherever you want, stay whenever you need, be responsible for your own choices. Never ever expected I will be happy to be like this way and join the like-minded community on an adventure of a lifetime. Less of a Do’s and Don’ts just a way of life; in short Luxury has its own presence but simplicity has its own charm.

Hidden Gem: Guptar Ghat

Hidden Gem: Guptar Ghat   Recently we had planned to visit at my mom’s place in Uttar Pradesh which is near Ayodhaya yes Awadhpuri   Ram Nagari Ayodhaya . It had almost been a week and we were locked up in our home as we had to attend some family affairs, so we finally decided to break the shackles and escape.   We wished to explore some unseen places this time as suggested by my sister-in-law; sounds like a plan treat for a person like me who loves to travel around. Straightaway we planned for Faizabad which comes under  Ayodhaya district now; previously Ayodhaya town used to come in  Faizabad district but now it’s exactly the opposite. Such a beautiful city with so many things to offer, a blend of growing boomtown and spiritual committed place.   The beautiful  rustic charm of   Chowks and Makbara built in the pre-partition era remains an eye candy for visitors.   A place that is built by sensitivity and natural environme...

15 Days Mumbai to Leh Ladakh-Road Trip

15 Days Mumbai to Leh Ladakh-Road Trip  An  astonishing road trip to Leh Ladakh in India. I'll try to cover every aspect – logbook, accommodation, pad, driving – of planning a memorable Ladakh road trip.   Part 2 & 3 COMING SOON! Ladakh is a land with rich culture and deep Buddhist history. Monks and hermitages form a large part of its identity and are a great influence on the community. As we make our way to Leh Ladakh, serried meadows, apple manors, and bounties of nature give way to beautiful terrains cheer up by the shining sun. The endless barren trails of mountains dot the terrain and that’s when you know you’ve arrived in one of the most spectacular places on the Earth!! A road trip to Ladakh isn't a child's play-it's feat stuff of dreams. The harsh climate scrapes, the off-roading, landslides, zero network connectivity, and mountain sickness on this no man’s land with limited food to survive are some of the challenges one has to be ...

Motherhood Journey: My Next Big Obsession

Motherhood Journey: My Next Big Obsession MrsSparklingEyes:Instagram My journey to motherhood has been filled with a range of emotions. From the moment I found out I was pregnant to the moment I saw my newborn baby.  #Motherhood There’s ain't no hood like motherhood. MrsSparklingEyes:Instagram My life was forever changed on August 19, 2022 . I recently became a mother after giving birth to a baby boy. His first cry, his first sight, and the hug we shared later were all rewarding. There are no words strong enough to describe the emotion I felt the day after holding my baby in my arms for the first time. I was aware that I was holding a star; it was love at first sight. In fact, I was intently watching him from a distance while they were cleaning him, and there was immense joy and relief in bringing him safely into this world. That feeling will stay with me for the rest of my life. I fell completely in love with my baby immediately after birth. I was in the happiest ...
