Grunge Styling: Closet on Dit
What is Grunge Styling?
A fashion emerged in the ’80s and ’90s popularized by music bands and pop-culture. This fashion that came into existence in a bygone era but bygones are not really bygones; it’s still trending now. Grunge styling is not appropriate for all the occasions but definitely, this style has something for everyone, you can adopt this attire and make an impact with your style statement. Grunge was greatly influenced by heavy metal and punk rock; it eventually manages to find its own identity throughout the time.
Why Grunge Styling!!!
Throughout the quarantine period, my wardrobe changed overnight. As time marches on, I have been so used to wearing this loungewear and comfortable clothing; almost adapting more into a low-key way of life. Even after the COVID -19 lockdown lifted I don’t feel like dressing up and get back to that unvaried wardrobe and the very same outfits; was very uncomfortable somewhere. Wearing fitted versions of tops and dresses not making me happy anymore; I don’t think I have put on a pair of skin fitting jeans since March. Those regular restrictive dressy pieces, formals, and impractical heels are completely irrelevant for me now; genuinely painful after having prioritized all things and being comfortable for so long. For me styling means comfort; being in my comfort zone is my first priority now.
So I opted for Grunge wear, easy to wear with hardly any efforts, and almost in fashion. Whether you are someone who just likes old homespun touch or someone loves to stay ahead with the upcoming trends; you can keep experimenting with this kind of styling as per your comfort.Very easy to carry this rebellious messy look anywhere and anytime. Be it going for a Party, or a clubhouse, or maybe a normal outing just like current scenarios; you can easily grunge into those messy excessively casual look with loose layered ripped styling and fall in trend list; as winters are nearing you can really rely on these layered clothing styling.
Tips for Grunge Styling!!!
You can render this look by oversized and layered silhouettes included flannel shirts, leather jackets, slogan tees, fishnet stockings, slouchy sweaters ripped types of denim with metallic jacket, and crop tops swaddle with multiple metallic accessories’ like a ring, chains, and choker (Optional). I personally prefer to be a bit less accessorized.
The whole concept behind this clothing style is to give a rusty look with baggy clothing, torn ripped and uncoordinated layered clothes with messy hair, and a bright red lip to add a few elements of grunge in there.
The best thing is you can carry this look wherever you want, from hardcore Grungy styling to the peek of grunge; you can nail it anywhere. Being Comfortable in your own clothes is most important than just looking trendy at times; no matter how keen you have been in fashion styles or following trends holistically you would always prioritize your gladening first.
