Ayodhya: An ancient city of India

Ayodhya is an ancient city situated on the banks of the holy river Sarayu in Uttar Pradesh-India; which is also known as Awadhpuri.

 Birthplace of Lord Shri Rama the famous epic of Ramayana and Shriramcharitramanas exhibits the splendor of Ayodhya; regarded as the seven most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus. 

A simple walk around in Ayodhya reveals so many temples, medieval houses, and a feel of a historic town.

Hanumangarhi: Temple which looks like a small fort with a golden idol of Lord Hanumana accessed by seventy-six steps leading to the temple. This temple is the heart of Ayodhya Nagri.

Kanak Bhavan: Golden Palace one of the famous and a must-visit temple in Ayodhya gifted by kaikeyi to Goddess Sita after her marriage as a dedicated private palace for Devi Sita and Lord Rama. It is so beautiful and magnificent around 800 meters from Hanuman Garhi.

Devi  Shabri Statue: Shabri the aged tribal devotee of Lord Rama. The tale of feeding berries with the spirit of service to Lord Rama that too after tasting them just to check the sweetness before offering the lord. This innocence and purity pleased the lord who granted her liberation before leaving the place. As described by localities’  Shabri statue is made exactly in front of the gate at Kanak Bhavan so that she could get the first sight straight of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita from their kaksha.

Ram Ki Paidi: A series of Ghats set on the banks of the river, Sarayu will give you the exact vibes and experience like Ghats in Varanasi.

 The people of Ayodhya celebrate Deep-Utsav at this ghat;  a joyous celebration of Lord Rama’s homecoming after the 14 years of exile and killing Ravana. A grand Arti is organized with lakhs of Diyas and earthen lamps are lit during the event; must experience this remarkable affair once in a lifetime.

Shopping at the streets of Ayodhya; a perfect place to stock up temple idols, artificial pieces of jewelry, marble statues of god and goddesses which  Ayodhya is famous actually for.


Street foods here in Ayodhya are sure to leave you in awe and the prices are extremely reasonable.


There are end number of temples, shrines, and Dharamshala we were made to wander throughout the day Shri Nageshwar Temple, Tulsi Das Smarak Bhavan, Treta Ke Thakur, Mani Parvat, Ghats and Kunds, Sarayu River, Bharat Kund and believe me the list goes on and on. 


Ayodhya is a great treat because of its remarkable architectural symmetry, vibrant fun, and a busy city full of culture. You will be overwhelmed with the beauty of stunning artwork, and remarkable views of the history; this city has to be visited at least once.
